Amid all the rumors about Chris Jericho’s future in pro-wrestling, WWE has once again caught attention by dropping a new Y2J reference.
Chris Jericho has achieved legendary status in professional wrestling, primarily for his work in WWE and AEW. Y2J first built his legacy in the Stamford-based promotion before leading All Elite Wrestling to quick success and relevance upon his arrival in 2019.
Although Jericho is currently under contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion, he has been absent from AEW programming since April this year. With his existing contract set to expire in December and no news of a renewal, the former AEW World Champion has been strongly linked to a possible return to WWE, which has been subtly hinting at his potential comeback.
The Triple H-led company was at it again today, dropping another reference to Jericho by uploading a match between him and John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship from Survivor Series 2008 on WWE Vault’s YouTube channel.
It’s worth noting that John Cena is currently on his retirement tour in WWE, and for his final match, he will face the winner of the recently announced “Last Time Is Now” tournament. In that announcement, Cena mentioned that the tournament might include non-WWE stars, which has fueled speculation about possible surprise entrants.
In recent news, WWE legend Chris Jericho shared insights on his AEW status during an appearance on NHL on TNT. On the show, Jericho discussed several topics, including the revered ladder match he had with Shawn Michaels back in 2009.
The conversation then shifted to Le Champion talking about his work with Jon Moxley in AEW, where he used the phrase “where I work now,” indicating that he is still aligned with the Jacksonville-based promotion.
> “It’s hard to say, but I had a ladder match with Shawn Michaels and that one was a really great kind of culmination to the good guy and bad guy dynamic. And then in AEW, where I work now, we got this guy Jon Moxley, he’s a little bit off his rocker.”

It will be interesting to see if Y2J will return to WWE after his AEW contract expires in December. Wrestling fans worldwide will undoubtedly be watching closely as the situation develops.
