Everything You Need to Know About Trials in ARC Raiders
Trials are another engaging form of player progression in ARC Raiders. With so much already available for players to do, why not add one more challenge to your to-do list while exploring Topside? Trials offer a variety of great rewards, including neat seasonal gear to flaunt if you make it through the Ranks.
In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Trials—from unlocking and completing them, to how the Ranks system works, and tips on earning points efficiently.
What Are Trials in ARC Raiders?
Trials are challenge-based tasks that reward you with exclusive gear for completing specific objectives in ARC Raiders. Think of it as a highscore system: the more points you earn in a match, the better the rewards you unlock.
There are two main types of Trials:
- Weekly Trials: These involve objectives like damaging Hornets, destroying ARC foes, and searching loot boxes. Each Trial comes with its own progress bar.
- Seasonal progression (Ranks): A separate system that tracks your overall career progress through different tiers.
For Weekly Trials, rewards unlock at various point milestones: 1,000, 2,500, and 4,000 points for Reward 1, Reward 2, and Reward 3 respectively. However, you must successfully escape at the end of the match to bank the points. If you fail to extract, all progress earned during that match is lost.
What Are Trials Ranks?
Within the Trials interface, you’ll find the Ranks tab, a seasonal career progression system offering rewards at each tier. There are 14 ranks to climb through during a season:
- Rookie I
- Rookie II
- Rookie III
- Tryhard I
- Tryhard II
- Tryhard III
- Wildcard I
- Wildcard II
- Wildcard III
- Daredevil I
- Daredevil II
- Daredevil III
- Hotshot
- Cantina Legend
As you complete objectives and extract safely, you gain XP that helps you rank up and unlock rewards. Generally, leveling up grants you one new item plus all previous rewards. For example, reaching Tryhard I rewards you with the Archeologist Backpack, along with the Black Eye face style and Happy Jig emote from Rookie III.
Note that moving from Daredevil III to Hotshot does not grant additional gear, but you will presumably earn the Hotshot badge as a recognition of your achievement.
The final rank, Cantina Legend, is reserved for the top 100 players on the server, who receive exclusive rewards such as the Scarlet Black outfit color.
When Do Trials Unlock?
Trials become available once you reach Level 15. You can access them through the Raider tab by selecting the badge icon located at the center-bottom of the screen to open the Trials page.
How to Complete Trials & Earn More Points
Each Trial task has a specific goal to achieve, and your performance is rated on a three-star system. The more points you earn in a single match, the higher your rating:
- One-star rating (1,000 points)
- Two-star rating (2,500 points)
- Three-star rating (4,000 points)
Your objective is to reach the three-star rating in a match and then extract successfully. Points do not accumulate across matches—for example, scoring 1,000 points in one match and 3,000 points in the next will not combine to 4,000 points. Instead, only your highest single-match score counts for each Trial.
To achieve the three-star rating, focus solely on the specific task for that Trial during your match. You can monitor your progress by opening your Inventory, then navigating to your Logbook which displays your in-game Trial performance.
Remember, you must extract successfully to bank any points earned. If you die or fail to escape, all progress from that match for that Trial is lost. However, you will still retain Raider XP earned to level up your character. Trials progression is exclusively for successful extractions.
Tips for Success in Trials
- Play on zones with active map conditions: Events such as Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storms provide double rank points, helping you climb the ranks faster.
- Team up with a full squad: Coordinating with like-minded players helps target and complete shared Trials efficiently.
- Avoid unnecessary PvP: Unless equipped for PvP, steer clear of other players to avoid losing valuable progress.
- Extract quickly: It’s better to leave with partial progress than lose it all by lingering too long in the zone.
Conclusion
Trials add an exciting layer of challenge and reward to ARC Raiders, encouraging focused gameplay and strategic teamwork. By understanding how to unlock, complete, and rank up through Trials, you can earn exclusive gear and prestigious seasonal rewards. Stay sharp, plan your approach, and aim for extraction to make the most of your Trials experience!
