2,700-Mile 2003 Lotus Esprit V8

This 2003 Lotus Esprit V8 is one of only 56 V8 examples produced for the United States market during the model year prior to the mid-year introduction of the Final Edition. Originally delivered to Lotus of Atlanta, Georgia, this rare Esprit changed hands on Bring a Trailer in June 2023 before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2025.

Finished in striking Mustard Yellow (B36) over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The engine was factory-rated at 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, delivering exhilarating performance characteristic of the Esprit nameplate.

This example features an array of distinctive exterior details including a body-color removable roof panel, a front spoiler, a rear wing, and classic pop-up headlights. Additional elements such as fog lights and central dual exhaust outlets further accentuate its sporty profile. The glass roof panel is also included in the sale, adding an airy feel to the cabin.

The car rides on staggered OZ Monoblock Nova wheels—17-inch front and 18-inch rear—fitted with 235/40 front and 285/35 rear Dunlop SP Sport tires. Stopping power comes from ventilated AP Racing discs at all four corners, while Bilstein shocks have been installed at the rear to enhance handling and ride quality.

Inside, the black leather trim extends beyond the seating surfaces to cover the dashboard, center console, and door panels, providing a cohesive and refined interior environment. Comfort and convenience features include an Alpine CD stereo, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a heated rear window. The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature.

This Esprit displays just 2,700 miles on the digital odometer, reflecting careful use over its life. Maintenance is up to date, with timing belts, tensioners, idler bearings, the water pump, and auxiliary belt all replaced in 2018.

The final iteration of the Esprit, introduced in 2002, is distinguished by a redesigned tail panel featuring round taillights, which this car proudly sports. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery for those interested.

Included with the sale is the Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, which details production information, factory colors, and identification numbers. The Carfax report confirms a clean history with no accidents or reported damage. The car holds a clean Missouri title and is currently offered for sale in Missouri.

This 2003 Lotus Esprit V8 represents a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, well-maintained example of a true British sports car icon, combining unique styling, advanced engineering, and an engaging driving experience.
