The shooting of Ram Charan’s highly anticipated sports drama, *Peddi*, has reportedly faced delays. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film was initially expected to wrap up production by October 2025. However, recent reports suggest that the filming is unlikely to conclude before January 2026 due to the project’s elaborate scale and meticulous attention to detail. This delay may impact the planned release date of March 27, 2026.
**Production Details**
A source close to the production revealed, “The scale of *Peddi* has grown far beyond the initial plan. Every schedule has been extended because of the detailing involved—from action choreography to period settings. The team doesn’t want to compromise on authenticity.”
The movie is being shot across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Rajahmundry, featuring elaborate sets that recreate a 1980s coastal town. Such intricate preparations have contributed significantly to the extended timeline.
**Ram Charan’s Engagement**
Ram Charan is deeply involved in every facet of the production. The insider shared, “Even director Buchi Babu is reviewing footage, discussing tone, and reworking scenes that don’t meet his standards. Naturally, that takes more time.”
Besides *Peddi*, Charan is managing brand endorsements and prepping for his next collaboration with director Sukumar, which has now been postponed to mid-2026 due to these delays.
**Release Plans**
Despite the setbacks, the makers are still aiming for a March 2026 release, aligning with Ram Charan’s birthday celebrations. A production team associate emphasized that the delays stem from ambition rather than disorganization, stating, “When you have someone like Ram Charan—coming off *RRR* and stepping into a completely new zone—you want every frame to look world-class.”
However, with the adjusted schedule, the post-production phase will have a very tight timeframe, posing a challenge to meet the intended release date.
