Choreographer Dhanashree Verma recently opened up about the turmoil in her marriage with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, revealing that he cheated on her just two months after they tied the knot.
The revelation came during an episode of the reality show *Rise and Fall*, where Dhanashree spoke candidly to actor Kubbra Sait about her troubled relationship with Chahal. When asked when she realized their relationship was headed for trouble, Verma responded, “First year. Caught him in the second month.”
### Alimony Rumors: Clarification from Dhanashree Verma
Earlier in the show, Dhanashree addressed circulating rumors regarding alimony following their divorce. Speaking to Aditya Narayan, she clarified, “Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual, that’s why when people say alimony it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don’t even know you?”
### Emotional Moments in Court
In August, Dhanashree shared her emotional experience during the final divorce hearing on the *Humans of Bombay* podcast. She confessed, “Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first.”
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma got married in December 2020 and finalized their divorce in March 2025, ending their nearly five-year marriage.
