A 53-year-old man from Albany, New York, has shockingly confessed to killing his parents and burying their bodies in the backyard of their home. The confession was made during an interview with local television station WRGB.
Lorenz Kraus admitted to murdering his parents, Franz and Theresia Kraus, eight years ago. He stated that his actions were driven by concern for their suffering.

During the interview, Kraus revealed that he suffocated both parents—using his hand on his father and a rope on his mother. Afterward, he kept their bodies for three days before burying them in the backyard.
“I did my duty to my parents. My concern for their misery was paramount,” Kraus said.

Kraus cited his mother’s injury from a fall and his father’s cataract surgery as reasons behind their ongoing suffering.
Authorities initially began investigating Kraus for alleged financial crimes after receiving a tip in May. The Social Security Administration had requested police to check on the Kraus parents, who were still collecting benefits despite being missing.

Lorenz Kraus graduated as valedictorian from Siena University in 1994 with a degree in political science. He also holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Following his confession on WRGB, Kraus was arrested outside the studio. He faces two counts of murder and charges for concealing a corpse. During his court appearance on Friday, Kraus pleaded not guilty to all charges.
