**Woman Vandalises Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’ Office in Mantralaya, Raising Security Concerns**
Mumbai: In a surprising security breach at the Mantralaya, the state secretariat building known for its strict entry protocols, a woman managed to reach the office of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and began vandalising the space. This incident occurred on Thursday, and a video showing the unidentified woman damaging the cabin door surfaced online on Friday.
The footage clearly shows the nameplate of Home Minister Fadnavis being thrown to the floor during the act of vandalism. Reports suggest that the woman was upset over a housing-related issue, which prompted her extreme reaction.
This incident has sparked outrage among opposition parties, who are strongly criticizing the government for the evident security lapse. Citizens have also voiced their concerns, questioning how an individual could bypass stringent checks and reach the Deputy CM’s office while others are made to wait in long queues for hours.
Reacting to the event, senior BJP leader and minister Sudhir Mungantiwar emphasized the gravity of the situation. Speaking to a Marathi news channel, he stated, “This is not a political issue but a serious security matter. The Home Minister’s life could be in danger, and all aspects of this incident need to be thoroughly analysed.” He further urged opposition parties not to politicize the matter.
This is not the first time unauthorized persons have breached security at one of India’s most secure government buildings. Previously, a farmer had entered the Mantralaya to protest, which had similarly raised questions about the effectiveness of security protocols.
The recent incident underscores the need for stricter security measures to ensure the safety of government officials and maintain order within the premises of the Mantralaya.
