Maharashtra: Pune university duped of Rs 2.46 crore, UK-educated engineer held

In the first week of September, Pune University lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the institution was swindled of Rs 2.46 crore by an online fraudster.

The individual reportedly posed as a professor from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) to carry out the scam.

Authorities are investigating the matter as the university seeks to recover the lost funds and prevent similar incidents in the future.
