A whirlwind week for Jarrett Stidham and his wife, Kennedy, ended in heartbreak.
Stidham was thrust into the starting quarterback role for the Denver Broncos after Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the divisional round. While Denver had a chance in Sunday’s AFC Championship game, they ultimately dropped a 10-7 heartbreaker to the New England Patriots at home in the snow.
“We love this team, we love this city,” Kennedy wrote on her Instagram Story after the game. “Thank y’all for the kindest support all week. This city is so special, this team is so special. We wanted this so badly for everyone.”
The Broncos struck first in Sunday’s game when Stidham connected with wide receiver Marvin Mims on a 52-yard pass that put the team deep in the red zone. The messy weather played a significant factor throughout the 60-minute affair, which included a fumble by Stidham and missed field goals.
Stidham finished the game completing 17 of 31 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown, and a late interception.
New England will face the winner of Sunday’s NFC Championship between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 2026. The big game is scheduled to kick off from Santa Clara, California, on February 8.
It’s been a wild week for the Broncos, who lost starting quarterback Bo Nix to an ankle injury in last weekend’s divisional-round win against the Buffalo Bills. Nix underwent season-ending ankle surgery and is expected to be out for 12 weeks.
Kennedy has been a steadfast supporter of Stidham throughout his NFL journey, which began when he was drafted in the fourth round by the Patriots in 2019. He had a brief stint with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 before landing in Denver the following year.
Before Sunday’s game, the mother of three fired off an enthusiastic two-word message on her Instagram Stories: “Let’s go!!!!!!”
Kennedy and Jarrett Stidham have been married since 2019.
