Michele Ghee has officially become president of PlayersTV, following the network’s acquisition of her tech and content agency, Expectant Media. The deal, with undisclosed financial terms, was finalized on January 22, according to BET.
A veteran media executive with over 30 years of leadership experience, Ghee previously served as senior vice president at BET and has held senior roles at Essence Communications and Ebony. She also spent two years as a board member at PlayersTV, bringing invaluable expertise to the organization.

As president, Ghee will lead a network comprised of more than 3,000 fan-owners and over 70 athlete investors, including notable names such as Chris Paul, Travis Kelce, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Ken Griffey Jr., and Vernon Davis.
Ghee is set to leverage her extensive experience in marketing, experiential branding, and culture building to expand PlayersTV’s media ecosystem. The network spans streaming video, news, and feature content, and under her leadership, it aims to scale original programming and distribution.
Her role will also focus on enhancing experiential, community-driven engagement between athletes and fans. PlayersTV has announced plans to increase live, interactive moments that foster organic connections between athletes and their audiences.
More announcements regarding original content, partnerships, and brand collaborations are expected in the coming weeks, marking an exciting new chapter for PlayersTV under Michele Ghee’s leadership.
