A former WWE Superstar has recently urged AEW President Tony Khan to bring him into All Elite Wrestling, highlighting the significant impact his arrival could make. This plea comes following his status as a free agent.
EC3, whose wrestling career spans over two decades, spent many years with WWE, primarily on the developmental side, although he did enjoy a decent run on the main roster. Beyond WWE, he has had brief stints with several major promotions, including TNA and Ring of Honor (ROH). Most recently, he competed in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). As of 2026, EC3 is now a free agent looking for his next opportunity.
During a recent appearance on TMZ’s *Inside the Ring*, EC3 hinted at the potential return of his iconic “Top 1%” persona. He shared that he plans to bring back this character at Exodus Pro, his independent promotion based in Cleveland, which he intends to livestream. EC3 elaborated on the type of opponent he wants to face, describing a very specific look and attitude.
“If or when the Top 1% returns, we’re going to do it at Exodus Pro, which is my little promotion in Cleveland. We’ll probably livestream it, but I’ll bring it back there and I’ll put myself in the ring. Any overtly grinning, smug, strong jawed, d**kish version of me would be a good place to start. If anybody has a suit, a scarf, a sweatervest, slacks, oxford shoes on, wears prescription glasses when they don’t have a prescription, anybody who falls into that motif would be,” EC3 said.
He then addressed AEW directly, urging them to take a chance on him. Confident in his ability to win over the crowd quickly, EC3 stated:
“AEW, if they had any courage, throw me in the mix and watch the place explode. 15-20 minute, 50-50 match, come on. Give me a five minute get over with a local and I’ll have that place throwing p**s at me.”

### EC3 Once Pitched a Storyline With MJF to AEW
In a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s *The Wrestling Outlaws*, EC3 revealed that he pitched a storyline idea to Tony Khan and AEW involving himself and MJF. He explained that since they share similar gimmicks, the concept revolved around EC3 suffering amnesia and forgetting that he was no longer the top guy—leaving MJF to assume that role.
“That pitch was like, yeah. You know, I put him [MJF] over because we both want to be the top guy and that’s cool. And then we’ll do whatever. Like, maybe EC3 gets knocked on the head and he has amnesia and then here’s the top 1% is back and he doesn’t understand what is going on except this top 1%’s bank cards are declined and the cars are repossessed. It’s like, I don’t know what’s happening?” EC3 shared.
Unfortunately, this storyline idea never materialized.
### What’s Next for EC3?
As of now, EC3’s next move remains uncertain. While he has expressed openness to joining AEW, he has also dropped major hints about a possible return to TNA. Wrestling fans eagerly await news on where the veteran will land next.
