Kyle Daukaus continued his impressive UFC comeback earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 15, 2025) at UFC 322, live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from Madison Square Garden in New York City. The middleweight contender showcased his evolution by dropping veteran Gerald Meerschaert before submitting him just 50 seconds into the first round.
Coming into the bout as a sizeable betting favorite, Daukaus was riding high after his return to UFC competition last August, where he secured a devastating 45-second knockout victory over Michel Pereira. Saturday’s contest promised to be a different challenge, given Meerschaert’s renowned grappling skills. However, many still expected Daukaus to get the job done—and he didn’t disappoint.
Early in the fight, Daukaus displayed his newfound striking power by planting Meerschaert firmly on his backside with a crisp left hand. Moving in quickly, Daukaus seemed poised for another early knockout finish, but instead transitioned seamlessly into a tight D’Arce choke. Although “GM3” fought hard for a moment, he ultimately tapped out, handing Daukaus the submission victory.
Daukaus, 32, is now 2-0 since his UFC return and looks better than ever. Known primarily as a submission expert, he appears to have developed a potent striking game that could open the door to a top-15 matchup in 2026 if his growth continues.
