LEXINGTON, Va. — Chris Arias scored 24 points off the bench and hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds remaining to secure a 69-67 victory for Jacksonville over VMI on Saturday.
Jacksonville held a 66-57 lead with 4:07 remaining but went scoreless until Arias rose up over two defenders to take the lead. Arias also contributed six rebounds and two steals for the Dolphins (2-2).
Jaylen Jones added 17 points, shooting an efficient 7-for-9 from the field. Donovan Rivers chipped in nine points and eight rebounds, going 3-for-6 on his shots.
For the Keydets (3-2), TJ Johnson led the team with 18 points and six rebounds. AJ Clark added 15 points and two steals, while Mario Tatum Jr. finished with 13 points.
