Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is nearly upon us, and Nintendo has released a slew of new details about Samus’ latest adventure. Among the exciting reveals is information about her new motorcycle vehicle, which has been showcased in the game’s trailers.
The motorcycle, named Vi-O-La, is poised to be a key component of traversal and exploration throughout the game. Vi-O-La was left behind by an alien civilization on Viewros—the planet that serves as the central setting for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
Players will be able to use Vi-O-La to cover great distances between different zones, collecting crystals and combating enemies along the way. Additionally, Samus can instantly summon the motorcycle to her location in areas where its use is permitted, adding a dynamic element to exploration.
Gameplay-wise, the bike is ridden in third-person perspective, offering players a broader view while traversing the environment. Once Samus dismounts, the game will automatically switch back to a first-person point of view, maintaining the immersive experience fans expect.
