Noland’s 24 lead Columbia over UMass Lowell 86-72

NEW YORK (AP) — Kenny Noland’s 24 points led Columbia to an 86-72 victory over UMass Lowell on Thursday.

Noland shot 7 for 15 overall, including 4 for 8 from beyond the arc, and was perfect from the free-throw line, making all six attempts for the Lions (2-1). Zine Eddine Bedri contributed 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Gerard O’Keefe scored 16 points on 6 for 9 shooting, including 2 for 3 from three-point range. Mason Ritter was impressive, making all six field-goal attempts to finish with 14 points.

For UMass Lowell (1-3), Austin Green led the team with 19 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Shawn Simmons II added 14 points and two blocks, and Xavier Spencer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists.

Up next, Columbia will host Boston University on Tuesday, while UMass Lowell travels to Wake Forest on Sunday.
