Final Fantasy 14 is removing class & level restrictions on glamour

Glamours have long provided Final Fantasy XIV players with a fun and creative way to express themselves. By allowing players to overlay the appearance of one piece of armor onto another, the glamour system lets you customize your look without sacrificing your gear’s stats.

However, a significant restriction in this system is set to be lifted in the upcoming December update. Soon, players will be able to use any glamour on their armor regardless of level or job/class restrictions.

Square Enix revealed this exciting change in a recent Letter from the Producer video. The development team confirmed that Patch 7.4, launching on all platforms in mid-December, will remove level restrictions on glamours. Previously, if you had a Lancer glamour for a chest plate, you couldn’t equip it on a Dark Knight’s armor. That limitation will no longer apply, giving players far greater freedom to customize their characters’ appearance.

It’s important to note that the only remaining restriction will be on weapons. These will still be limited because changing their appearance arbitrarily could cause mechanical issues and visual inconsistencies.

For fashion-forward players, Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.4 is shaping up to be an update worth getting excited about. This change adds to the game’s ongoing evolution, following a recent collaboration event featuring Monster Hunter World-themed items, characters, cosmetics, and even the mighty Arkveld dragon.

With these updates, Square Enix continues to enhance both gameplay and customization options, making Eorzea an even more vibrant world to explore.
