Most matches reach the 40-player threshold within 15 minutes, making this a good general rule of thumb. Unless you hot-drop into a zone crowded with players, you will likely have time for at least one or two missions before the late-game period starts.
Keep in mind that some missions, like Decrypt Beacons, act as natural PvP beacons, potentially drawing enemy squads to your location to contest the objectives. This can be risky but also offers opportunities for strategic confrontations.
