A Huge Milestone for Ghost Vanguard
Wombo Combo Games, a two-person indie studio based in Fukuoka, Japan, has successfully reached its $20,000 Kickstarter goal to complete development of Ghost Vanguard, a roguelike beat ’em up filled with dark fantasy and fast-paced combat. With the campaign surpassing its initial target, the team will use additional funds to expand the game’s content and features.
The stretch goals include exciting new additions such as new boss encounters that will reveal the true masterminds behind the nightmare-forged dungeons. Players can also look forward to a Turbo Mode that adjusts combat speed, console ports for PlayStation, and a new playable character inspired by the Thief archetype.
The developers plan to announce more stretch goals as backers continue to support the project, promising an even richer experience for future players.
Interactive Development with Backers
Wombo Combo Games offers supporters creative ways to help shape Ghost Vanguard. Backers have the unique opportunity to design custom NPCs or mini bosses, craft spells, relics, and statues, or leave personalized messages throughout the game world. This collaborative approach creates an interactive experience reminiscent of the atmospheric environments found in Bloodborne.
Try Ghost Vanguard Now
Players interested in experiencing Ghost Vanguard can try the demo available on Steam. The demo offers two to three hours of gameplay and features two unique bosses. Players wield a one-handed sword with three distinct combat styles, experiment with ten upgradeable spells, and utilize a variety of relics to develop specialized playstyles, such as Frost Mage or Aerial Combo builds.
Additionally, the demo includes advanced techniques unlocked at the Hub, including parrying, air dashing, and double jumping, allowing players to deepen their skills and explore the game’s combat depth as it nears full release.
