**WEST BATH**
William Kevin Callahan, 61, of West Bath, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Bill was the youngest of six children born to John “Bud” Callahan and Margaret Sabol Callahan on November 16, 1963, in New Haven, Connecticut. At the age of nine, he moved with his family to Edgecomb.
Bill was bright, intelligent, and had a huge heart coupled with the best sense of humor. His witticism brought laughter to those around him right up until the end. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “strong like bull, smart like tractor,” you or someone you know has probably had the pleasure of meeting Bill.
His intellect allowed him the opportunity to travel and work in various positions, which eventually led to him meeting his dear friend and companion, Emily DeRosier, and her children Melinda, Richard, and Chris. As they all grew older and started their own families, they brought the gift of love, laughter, and pride into his world. They were the stronghold in his life and his heart—his family and his foundation.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret, his brothers Thomas and Matthew, and his sister Marykate. He is survived by his remaining siblings, John Callahan Jr. and his wife Diane, and his sister Elizabeth Callahan.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Amy, Jessica, Kaitlin, Jocelyn, Amanda, Brooke, and Spencer, along with their families.
Lastly, Bill is survived by his companion Emily, her children and their families—Melinda, Lacey, Dana, Richard, Arianna, Chris, Ashley, Lily, and Izzy—and his best friends, Jimmy and Brian.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, in gratitude for the comfort they provided Bill and his loved ones during his final journey home.
