**Nepal and Oman Secure Spots in 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup**

Nepal and Oman have officially qualified for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Both teams confirmed their places during the Super Six stage of the Asia-EAP Regional Final held in Al Amerat.
They will join a star-studded lineup featuring cricket powerhouses and emerging teams, including India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, and Italy at the upcoming tournament.
### How Nepal and Oman Qualified
The qualification for Nepal and Oman was sealed following the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) convincing 77-run victory over Samoa. This result strengthened UAE’s hold on the third qualifying spot, indirectly confirming Nepal and Oman’s qualification.
Out of the six teams competing in this stage, three will secure spots for the 20-team World Cup, scheduled from February 6 to March 7, 2026. This edition marks the second time the tournament will feature 20 teams, following its inaugural expansion in 2024.
### Historical Context: Third World Cup Appearance for Nepal and Oman
For both Oman and Nepal, this marks their third qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Oman previously appeared in the 2016 and 2024 tournaments, while Nepal’s earlier participations include the 2014 and 2024 editions.
Currently, both teams are leading their respective groups in the Super Six stage, showcasing strong performances that underline their growth on the international stage.
### The Final Spot Battle: Japan Eyes UAE
With UAE’s recent win, they have accumulated four points in the group standings and are now vying to secure the final qualification spot. Japan remains a strong contender, holding two remaining matches — including a crucial clash against UAE.
Should Japan win both upcoming games within the next three days, they could overtake UAE and claim the final ticket to the 2026 T20 World Cup.
