SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Home Course is redefining the retail experience for golf enthusiasts with a unique blend of style, sport, and community.
“We didn’t want it to be your normal retail experience,” said Home Course Co-founder Grant Rayners. “We wanted you to walk in and feel like you walked into another world.”
Located in the heart of Solana Beach, Home Course is a boutique that combines fairways with fashion, offering home cooking for golf fanatics. “We wanna be that spot that you are just dying to come back and hang out,” Rayners continued. “We aren’t trying to get you to buy something. We just want you to come in and feel like having a conversation. I want to talk about golf, sports, and fashion where you feel at home.”
San Diego is known as the heart of the golf industry, and Home Course pays homage to this vibrant community. “Why would we not have a place that honors that,” Rayners said. The store provides a physical home for several brands that have emerged in recent years, many of which previously maintained only an online presence. “This creates a home for them, but also creates a home for the people who live in this community and just want a place to come down and hang out,” he added.
Beyond offering rare golf gear, Home Course also features a barbershop. “That’s the heart of this operation,” explained Rayners. “That’s where the community starts, in the chair getting your haircut. It’s also cool for the people walking in on the golf side, realizing it’s also a barbershop. It kind of sparks that interest, leading to more conversation and community.”
Home Course will celebrate its Grand Opening at 344 South Cedros Ave. in Solana Beach on Friday, October 3. The event will feature a partnership with Adidas Originals, showcasing their Fall 2025 collection.
Store hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
